WESTMONT MUSIC ACADEMY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
TUITION
All payments are processed by pre-authorized credit cards or auto-draft from checking accounts on the first of the month. Tuition is based on the number of lessons scheduled to take place that month and may vary. We do not prorate for any canceled lessons. Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments. The cost of 30 min lessons is $36, 45 min lesson is $54 and one hour lessons is $72 There is a one time registration fee of $30
CANCELLATIONS AND MAKEUPS
In order to maintain student progress, the school schedules substitute teachers when a regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach. No refunds will be given if the student does not attend a lesson with a substitute. If no substitute is available, the student will be offered a private make-up lesson at a later date. If the school must cancel lessons due to extreme weather conditions or events beyond our control, teachers will provide either a live video lesson or a recorded lesson. For any lesson missed by a student, We offer two make up options: 1. One hour group makeup class throughout the month. To sign up for a makeup class, visit our website. 2. A personalized video lesson can be provided if notice is given before the start of the students lesson time.
DISCONTINUING LESSONS
To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, fill out the withdrawal form before the 15th of your last month. We do not prorate tuition for last month’s lessons. Students will be responsible for their last month’s tuition whether or not they attend lessons.
SUMMER VACATION
The WMA operates year round and does not close for the summer. We are happy to offer unlimited makeups for our students. If you are taking a month off for vacation and want to resume the next month, your payment is still due on the first of the month to reserve your lesson space. The lessons for the month you miss can be made up before or when you return from vacation.
CARE OF STUDENTS
The school is not responsible for providing before or after care for students. Students should be dropped off inside the academy by their parents or guardians. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time periods before or after their lessons. Children must wait for their parents to pick them up inside the Academy. Please do not ask them to meet you elsewhere. WMA assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied.
OPEN DOOR POLICY
Parents are always allowed to sit in on lessons. We have an open door policy for lessons. WMA has both video and audio recording taking place at all times, in all lesson rooms and lobby areas.
INJURIES
The school will provide any medical assistance they deem appropriate for minors enrolled in our programs, and all expenses incurred are the responsibility of parents or guardians of that child. Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students or their siblings before, during, or after lesson time, including hearing loss or hearing damage.
ILLNESS
If a student is sick to the point of coughing excessively, vomiting, or running a fever, they should not attend their lesson for the day. If the student was not well enough to attend to their daily responsibilities (EX: school or work.), they will not be allowed to attend their music lessons that day. We reserve the right to allow our teachers to request anyone wear a mask while in their classroom.
CONSENT FOR DIGITAL COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA RELEASE
WMA is given consent to send notices and information regarding lessons, events and future registrations to student families by email, text and other digital methods. Student information will not be shared with any outside companies or parties. The school reserves the right to take photographs and videos of students to use in educational and promotional materials.
